Mom jeans are the coolest way to wear denim this summer. You know, jeans that could easily have been plucked from your mother's collection of retro cast-offs, and that can make you look like you've stepped straight out of an early episode of Friends (hail Rachel Green, the original denim pioneer).
Along with the return of the choker (addicted? me?), the bodysuit, and the denim jacket, this huge denim trend is all part of the nineties fashion comeback. Mom jeans are high-waisted, distressed and cut in a comfy, easy fit. Don't confuse them with boyfriend jeans though; they are both distressed and have a loose fit, but the difference is in the mom jeans' waistline, that sits a lot higher.
If you've been following me on Instagram and seen my pictures lately, you've probably noticed that I'm a huge nineties fashion girl. I LOVE choker necklaces (in Laurens' words: how many chokers can you have?), I've been stocking bodysuits that will last me for at least 10 years and I'm obsessed with matte lips right now. So it was only a matter of time before I adopted this new denim trend!
