Griffith Park hike

Friday I went on an amazing hike in Griffith Park with my boo Rose. We followed the Hollyridge trail, that leads to the back of the Hollywood sign. We had so much fun walking, climbing and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I just love hiking, it's such a fun way to work out outdoors while having fun with your friends! It's a great full-body workout, and it's especially hard for your legs and your glutes. I was so sore the next day, I could hardly get out of bed!

California has some of the best hiking trails in the US and even in the world. I'm planning to go on more hikes in the future, I really want to discover some hidden gems here in LA. Right now the Hollyridge trail is one of my favorite hikes. I think it's much more impressive to see the hollywoodsign from behind. You really feel like you're on top of the world!

But first things first, you have to be prepared. As it can get really hot in those Hollywood hills, you have to bring some essentials with you. I've listed my personal favorites below. (click them to shop)

* Evian mineral water spray, to stay refreshed in those hot temperatures

* Denim fanny pack, to carry your essentials with you

* Cooling water bottle, to stay hydrated

* Coola Sport sunscreen spray SPF30, organic & water resistant sunscreen to prevent sunburn

* Colorscience loose mineral powder SPF30, 'cause you'll want to look shine-free in those pictures.

If you're gonna sweat, you might as well look awesome doing it!

On this hike I wore a pair of comfy leggings by Koral, and a sports bra by Solow. I love the dusty rose color of those moto leggings, combined with black they give you an edgy and trendy look! Make sure to wear the right shoes to prevent to give you enough grip on the sandy soil. I wore some black Nikes Free 5.0 but I'm thinking about getting the Nike Air Huarache's, because hey will give me a better grip. It was really hard to climb on sand with these, as you can see in this video...

I wore my hair in 2 boxer braids that day, because I think it's such an easy hairdo to keep your hair out of your face. Ánd it's one of the biggest hairstyle trends this summer, thanks to Kim K and her siblings. I did these ones myself, but it's easier and looks tighter when you get a hairdresser or a talented friend to do them. I'll post a tutorial on this soon on my beauty page!

Check out some more pics and videos below.

So after a 2,5 hour hike (yes we made several stops to take pics) we finally reached the top! The view was simply breathtaking. The trail ends on the highest point of the hills, right behind the famous letters of the

Hollywood sign. We just sat there for a while, resting and enjoying the amazing view.

We still had to walk back though! We were totally exhausted after the hike, so we though we deserved to treat ourselves to an organic frozen dessert from Pressed Juicery. It was the perfect ending of a fun afternoon!
